With loads of ski resorts, skiing has become one of the specialties of Chile. In fact, Chile is probably the best skiing destination in Latin America. Open to public since 1949, it was the venue for the World Alpine Ski Championship in 1966. There are slopes for novice skiers as well slopes that are next to impossible for pro skiers.
