One of the most interesting and engaging activity to undertake in Bulgaria is a cycling tour along the north and central parts of the Balkan Mountains. Known for their green valleys, unspoilt natural landscape, scenic cliffs and slopping hills, the Balkan range is a hub for cycling freaks.
You can start your trip from the tiny hamlet of Goliam Izvor and finish it in one of the most charming Bulgarian towns- Veliko Tarnovo. But, while you will be cycling past the narrow roads you would pass through the Central Balkan National Park and some beautiful countryside sceneries. In addition, you will come across at least seven of the most beautiful Bulgarian monasteries, several old churches and other architectural reserves with traditional old style houses.
