The oldest town in Belgium, Tongeren has been able to attract visitors with its charm, culture and laid back life. Also called as Atuatuca Tungrorum by Romans, the town has some magnificent heritage buildings scattered in all corners. The Gallo Roman Museum, Basilica of Our Lady, and the large beguinage are the main attraction of the city. Built in Gothic style, the bell tower in the Basilica of Our Lady rises to height of 64 m and is an imposing structure.
