The Great Barrier Reef

The Great barrier reef by the coast of Australia extends more than 2000 km and is coral paradise full of colorful reefs and marine life. In fact, it is the only living organism that is visible from the outer space. Situated 15 to 70 km off the coast of Queensland, it is actually a composition of 2900 smaller reefs with around 300 stepping stone islands within them. The Great Barrier Reef is recognized as an important ecological spot and also declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO for its 500 different species of brilliantly colorful hard and soft corals, 1500 varieties of fishes, and 4000 types of molluscs. There is a host of activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, cruising and a lot more activities that you can indulge in here in Great Barrier Reef.
