Africa Travel Association (ATA) happens to be the first Africa-specific professional travel and tourism association. Head quartered New York, ATA came into existence in the year 1975 when a group of travel and airline executives felt the need of an international non-profit, non-political, educational trade organization. Today, ATA is the only Africa-focused travel organization that spans through the three important sectors in Africa’s economic development - the governments, the private sector and civil society as a whole.
