Covering nearly 5% of the total area of Armenia, Lake Sevan is one big natural attraction. It is situated almost 2000 meters above the sea level. The lake is surrounded by white beaches which are mostly not crowded and prove to be a great spots for relaxation. The water in the lake is so clear, that the reflections of the sky on the water, makes it look like a part of sky itself. On the banks of the lake, there is a monastery named Hayravank Monastery. It is highly popular among tourists as one can get splendid views of the lake from the monastery. Although you can swim in the pleasant water of the lake, but fishing is banned here.
