About Etosha National Park: Kunene

Etosha National Park is considered to be one of the most picturesque wildlife reserves in the world. Situated in the northwestern part of Namibia, Etosha covers a total area of 22,270 km2. Established in the year 1907, it originally covered nearly 100,000 km2 area and was the largest game reserve in the world at that time. A large part of the park is covered by Etosha Pan which is a lakebed. This 120 km long salt pan remains dry most of the year but briefly fills up with water during summers. During this time, the Etosha Pan becomes a good spot for birdwatching as bird species like pelicans and flamingos visit it. Take a safari and sight animals like elephants, zebras, lions, antelopes and many more. The flat and barren landscape of the park hardly seems earthly and probably is the biggest factor that leaves the tourists mesmerized.
